Ketamine Health Centers Offers Free Consultations During National Suicide Prevention Month

Ketamine Health Centers Offers Free Consultations During National Suicide Prevention Month

Industry leader in Ketamine Infusion Therapy reduces barriers and increases accessibility to meet the growing demand for effective solutions for mental health conditions

MIAMI, FL — September 10, 2021 —  Ketamine Health Centers (KHC), the leading provider of IV ketamine infusion therapy in Florida, has announced it will offer free consultations across all five of its Florida-based facilities during the month of September, also recognized as National Suicide Prevention Month. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for those between the ages of 10-34, and ranks as the tenth leading cause of death overall in the United States.

Suicides have increased 35% in the U.S. since 1999 and Suicide Prevention Month hopes to shed light on this dark and taboo topic.  Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone and do not discriminate in age, gender or background. Oftentimes, suicide results from an untreated mental health condition and suicidal ideation should always be taken seriously. Bringing the topic of suicide to the open allows for open conversations about what suicide is, the resources available to prevent it and to further destigimtize mental health.

Ketamine Health Centers prides itself on providing the highest-caliber ketamine treatments. Current data suggests, when given intravenously, ketamine may be the most important breakthrough in antidepressant treatment in decades. With a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to delivering long-term solutions for treatment-resistant mental health and pain conditions, Ketamine Health Center’s success rate for treating depression surpasses the national average, exceeding 85 percent.

As these treatments become more popular and with increased insurance coverage, our company continues to be at the forefront of the field–one infusion at a time. With over 10,000 patients treated since inception, Ketamine Health Centers brings experience and hope for patients with mental health and pain conditions. KHC is proud of its continued company growth and its ability to provide leading mental health and pain care to patients in more areas, coast to coast.

“The effect of our treatments on mental health is transformational for patients,” says Dr. Raul Cruz, Chief Medical Officer. “To offer free consultations allows us to extend awareness about our services to all patients, providing them an alternative option for mental health conditions.”

The facilities include ketamine infusion therapy, but also other personalized cutting-edge treatments designed to help patients regain control: Stellate Ganglion Blocks (SGB), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and teleherapy,  to name a few. The KHC approach allows patients struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other debilitating conditions to find relief and start living again.

Expand Your Mind

In our hyperpolarized world, it is ever more important to actively practice a change in perspectives. Especially, if we are ever to reestablish balance, and approach the Other with respect and decency. Role-playing various perspectives can be an eye-opening experience that can also serve you well when making difficult choices. You’ve heard, no doubt, the suggestion to take a walk when you’re stuck or when faced with something you just can’t figure out. Stepping away from your intense focus on a particular issue allows your mind to disengage and loosen its grip on an entrenched idea. The space that opens up when you change your scenery, and see with fresh eyes, gives your mind the opportunity to make new connections, to allow you to see something that was not apparent before. Or simply to clear your thoughts and allow you to refocus on something new that provides a way forward. That is a passive way to change your perspective and help your mind process information differently, often resulting in a ‘Eureka’ moment.

Role-playing is an active method to help you reach other points of view, or other facts that will help you see things in a different light. One suggestion, I read recently, is to imagine 3 or 4 fictional characters taking on your task. Say you are having a difficult time deciding how best to complete a project that you know will meet resistance from others. Imagine your scenario from the perspective of an elderly woman, a Greek philosopher, the first female leader of a nation, a poor peasant – the more culturally and historically diverse the better. These wildly diverse character filters will force you to see your problem from very different life perspectives. Be as creative and far-fetched as you can in order to stretch your mind to focus on a multitude of factors. Such a diverse group of filters will help you consider consequences to your decision that you likely have not thought of, thus expanding your mind. This is a fun and useful exercise, and also serves to keep your mind flexible and open to new ideas. It can be easily adapted to consider diverse social viewpoints that could help you bridge the gap with polar opposite individuals.

Ketamine infusion therapy proves to be effective along these lines of helping expand the mind after experiencing a new way of being in the world. Ketamine helps dislodge entrenched neuropathways via an expansion of one’s sense of self that occurs during the process of ‘ego dissolution’. Many clients have shared experiences of seeing anew regarding their lives, after sensing they are part of something larger than themselves. New ways of seeing, of sensing one’s ground, provides new pathways to help establish alternate ways of living. Especially when lifestyle changes accompany one’s treatment. The expansion of one’s mind often coincides with a change in perspective and opens a space for healing on a deep-rooted level. Standing Stronger Together

One of the hallmarks of depression, and mental illness in general, is the isolation that one feels. Feeling as if we face our burdens all alone. Thinking that no one could possibly understand the depths of despair that one may reach. The added social stigma that surrounds mental health care makes it seem as if this is undoubtedly true. Yet, when one begins to reach out for support and open oneself up to the necessary states of vulnerability that speaking our truth requires, we quickly come to realize that we are surrounded by countless of individuals who struggle with life’s challenges at one level or another. It is only a matter of degrees that may separate one’s challenges from the person standing next to you. This is particularly true for youth who already face the difficulties of finding their voice in this world, and developing their identity, almost always with a perceived need to mask their weaknesses for fear of rejection. And as we well know, with all the discourse on ‘toxic masculinity’ in the face of the me-too movement, it is more difficult for men of all ages to share their struggles for fear of greater isolation due to gender stereotypes.

Thankfully, this discourse has had the positive effect of allowing us to confront the social stigma of mental health with courage and conviction. Recognizing that together we stand stronger, more resilient. That by establishing a supportive web we heal more quickly as we work through our challenges and find cathartic strength and solidarity in helping others. There are a growing number of men’s support groups across college campuses and various communities, that provide a lifeline for men, young and old, sharing their challenges with mental illness, or the toxic social strictures they may have experienced. There are more youth organizations to help individuals of all stripes find their voice and speak their truth in a climate that is becoming increasingly hostile to their sexual identity or gender transitions (a rapid reversal of the hard-fought social progress witnessed not that long ago). Thankfully, there are more early education programs aimed to help young children with anxiety and depression, and the devastating challenges of growing up with addiction in their homes. And women suffering from sexual abuse and/or domestic violence are finding more supportive social networks to address their needs. The growing awareness that these groups bring to us on a larger societal scale is helping breakdown the barriers to mental health care, as we find that we are stronger together. Supportive community groups, often in combination with more traditional therapeutic avenues, provide a lifeline for so many individuals facing mental disorders and traumas in life.

Ketamine Health Centers is proud to provide a supportive network of clinics throughout Florida to educate and engage individuals in their path to healing. By providing a variety of alternative treatment options, we seek to stand with you, to help you build your resilience and together work through your life challenges, providing cutting edge therapeutic treatment.
