Raul Cruz, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Cruz is a Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and has been a licensed, practicing anesthesiologist for 10 years. Dr. Cruz has had extensive experience in both the academic and private practice settings including teaching, operating room and practice management, and direct patient care.
Dr. Cruz has been involved in the full spectrum of anesthesia practice ranging from procedural medicine and all the surgical sub-specialties, including level 1 Trauma and Burn surgery; as well as anesthetic management in Obstetrics and Psychiatry. During his 10 years in practice, Dr. Cruz has developed an expert knowledge in the use of and delivery of IV ketamine to treat burn patients, as well as those with acute and postoperative pain. He has had success treating patients with comorbid depression, anxiety, and/or PTSD using ketamine infusions in the hospital setting, while also using it as an anesthetic, an analgesic, and as a sedative.
Dr. Juan Oms, MD, Psychiatrist
Dr. Juan Oms is our Medical Director of Psychiatry here at Ketamine Health Centers. Dr Oms received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, and completed his training in Psychiatry at Jackson Memorial Hospital in affiliation with University of Miami and the VA Hospital. Dr. Oms is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Currently he is the Associate Medical Director BH at Beacon Health Options and is a driving force at the forefront of healthcare improvement and change for the psychiatric community at large training future psychiatrist as the previous Residency Program Director of Psychiatry at Larkin Community Hospital.
Lastly Dr. Oms is an Assistant Professor Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in affiliation with Citrus Community Health Network FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, where he continues to educate and mentor residents of Psychiatry while rotating in outpatient detox clinic and MAT program at Citrus Health Network.
Dr. Oms is passionate in treating patients from a wellness perspective and has emphasized his practice and treatment in an integrative and functional model.
Dr. Matt Bojanowski, M.D., Psychiatrist
Dr. Bojanowski completed his medical school education at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and came to Miami for Psychiatry residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has a significant amount of experience in inpatient, emergency and outpatient psychiatric settings through several different hospital systems. Through his training and practice, Dr. Bojanowski has become adept at using both psychotherapy and medication management to help patients achieve the changes that they seek
Martha Sims, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Martha is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the state of Florida and practicing as a therapist in Seminole and Orange county FL. Her education and professional background give her an effective approach to implement in counseling. Martha works to provide individuals and couples with fitted treatment plans that can be integrated into their daily lives.
Martha earned a Master’s Degree of Science in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. Prior to becoming a counselor, she earned a Law degree from The Catholic University of Colombia, where she graduated with honors.
Martha has experience working with couples dealing with relationship concerns and individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, among others. In addition to her license, Martha is trained in Gottman method levels I and II, she is an EMDR therapist, which she considers one of the most effective approach in counseling. Martha also holds a certification in PREPARE/ENRICH for couples, she is bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English.
Outside of her private practice, Martha is the mental health counselor at “Ketamine Health Center”, she provides support and feedback to patients throughout treatment, helping them develop positive perspectives and insights by replacing irrational thought process with positive and rational cognitions. Martha has worked as a mental health evaluator in a non-profit out-patient agency and she also worked in private practice treating adolescents, adults and couples with diverse backgrounds and concerns.
Martha continues expanding her knowledge by attending conference, seminars, advance trainings on EMDR, and keeping up with current mental health therapy research.
